Blogging Nominations: Liebster and Blogger Recognition Awards

About two months ago, (now 3 months)…Well, now it has actually been over a year… I received a post message notifying me that I had been nominated for my second Liebster Award and also the Blogger Recognition Award by Mary of Mary-andering Creatively.  Mary is not only a blogger, she is also a great photographer so be sure to check her out. Mary I feel so honored to have been nominated by you and again thanks for even considering me.

At that time, I was knee deep in IGPs (Individual Graduation Plans) and high school registration with our 8th graders. I’m sure you remember me posting about it.  I was tired and emotionally drained at the end of each day.  It was so nice to receive a little pick-me-up along the way.  Mary really brightened my day with these nominations.  Because I was so busy, I could never get around to finishing this post.  I began it twice (hehe)…as you can see this is my 3rd attempt and I’m just getting a chance to finish it. (When I began this post, I was still on Blogger)

The Liebster Award, I believe, was developed to pass on encouragement from one blogger to another, to connect and support newer and upcoming blogs.  Each recipient should do the following:

*  Post the award to your blog
  *  Link back to the person who nominated you
  *  Answer the questions your nominator sent you
  *  Nominate up to 10 other bloggers with fewer than 3000 followers and be sure to notify them
  *  Create a list of questions for your nominees to answer

The Blogger Recognition Award is similar and requires the following:

*  Post the award to your blog
  *  Link back to the person who nominated you
  *  Provide a brief story about starting your blog
  *  Provide advice to new bloggers
  *  Answer the questions sent by your nominator
  *  Select 15 other bloggers to nominate
  *  Comment on each nominees blog letting them know they have been nominated
  *  Create a list of questions for your nominees to answer

Mary gave me the opportunity to chose from her set of questions to respond to.  This is what she stated:
I am going to keep this simple for those I have nominated. Please answer any of the questions from above or tell us about your blogging life, when you started, what you blog about, and your blogging goals for the New Year.

So I have decided to answer the following:
1)  How long have you been blogging?
2)  What is your blog about?
3)  Where does the inspiration behind your writing come from?
4)  What is your favorite memory associated with blogging?
5)  What is the best social media outlet for your blog?
6)  What’s one thing you want readers to know about you?

I began this blog in August of 2014, so I’ve been blogging for a little over two years.  My blog is about any and everything under the sun.  My first post pretty much describes why I started blogging and how I came up with my blog name.  (Please don’t laugh…I was such a newbie).  The inspiration behind my writing comes from everyday life.  It can be as random as wanting to show appreciation to the people who work to keep our work place clean to driving around and having something initiate a spark in my mind.

What you will find in my blog is Me.  Me in the raw.  Me being vulnerable at times and sharing very joyful times in my life.  Me sharing bits and pieces of my everyday life that you can probably relate to in your own life.

One of the best things that has happened since I began blogging are the connections I’ve made with others.  I have so many virtual friends out there that I consider as true friends.  Our lives have intertwined in such a natural way and I feel like I’ve know them for years.  I can remember attending my first blogging conference and the connections I made there.  These connections have helped shape me into the blogger I am today. These are the best memories I have associated with blogging.

If you would like to learn more about me, then check out my Instagram page.  These little, everyday snippets give you a quick peak inside the life of Sunshine and Elephants.  It was hard to find 15 bloggers who have the necessary requirements…So…
My nominations for both awards go to:

Anne Marie of Crunchy, Crafty, and Highly Caffeinated
Dara of Like Sara…but with a D
Shauna of Delightful Struggles
Dara of Living My Someday
Teresa of Embracing The Spectrum                                                                            Tamar of Random-osity

Following in Mary’s lead, I will also make it easy for my nominees.  You can just answer  the same questions I posted above, and add a few of your own if you choose.  Let’s keep these nominations moving!

Have you been nominated for a blogging award?  Which ones?  Who would you nominate for an award?

See where I’m Linking Up this post and others.

  1. I totally understand writing, abandoning, and then returning to a post again and again. I do it all the time. Heck, I am just finally making it here from Anne’s Currently Linkup! I am so glad that I stopped by though, I love the design of your blog and the story behind the name.

  2. I’ve been nominated a few times, but it’s been awhile! It is a nice recognition though. I love blogging and I can’t imagine quitting anytime soon. I’ve definitely put more of myself and everyday life into the blog as it’s gone on and grown, but I like that. I like the personal connection.
