Currently: July (Summer) 2017

Happy Summer and Happy 4th of July!  Wait…Did I just say that? Can you believe that summer is here again?  Where does the time go?  Not only is it officially summer, but I have been on summer vacation for 5 weeks now, which means…  Nope, I’m not going to say it because it would force me to face a horrible reality.  So, let’s not talk about the future just yet.  Let’s see what I’ve been up to lately!

Currently…

Documenting:  My summer with the hashtag #JamisonSummer17 on Instagram.  I got the idea from another blogger and thought it would be cute to look back on my summer and have a record of it forever!  You should definitely check it out!  I’ve been pretty busy so far this summer!  🙂

Accomplishing:  Okay, you will be so proud of me.  I just can’t ever seem to sit down long enough to read a book.  I haven’t read one in years, other than books for work or children’s books for my students.  I purchased a couple of audiobooks on Audible last year.  I know many people who “read” books this way and they recommended I try it.  So, noticed I said I purchased last year, right?  I started both books last year and still didn’t put in the time to complete them.  I kept saying I would listen to it on one of my long road trips.  Problem was I was either never alone or I would need music to keep me awake or would just simply forget.  Well, I finally finished a book!  I did a road trip to Charlotte recently and thoroughly enjoyed it!  I was able to complete over 2/3 of the book on my road trip and finished the rest a few days later.  What did I read? Enjoying:  Time with friends.  I’ve been to a retirement dinner, a housewarming, a bachelorette party, a bridal shower, two weddings, and the beach.  Next up,  I have a quinceanera this weekend and another wedding to attend the following week.  Nothing beats summer!  It’s all documented at #JamisonSummer17 🙂

Reading:  Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes and I thoroughly enjoyed it!  It’s so positive and will have you thinking about your own life.  It’s so uplifting and will have you laughing as well!  It’s a must read!

Spending:  I’m actually restricting myself from spending right now.  The budget has gotten a little tighter now that student loans need to be repaid.   Bummer.  But, I’m not letting that stop me from enjoying my summer.  There are always free or inexpensive things to do around here.  But from the list above, you can obviously tell I’m spending quality time with friends!
