My weekday schedule is a busy one. I get up, go to work, come home to eat and sleep and start all over again. This may sound familiar to many of you. With the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we sometimes get too busy to enjoy time with those that mean the most to us. I have children, but they are away at their respective universities. On many occasions, they come home, but generally not at the same time. This weekend they both came home and we had great fun spending time together.
We spent Saturday evening attending a family friend’s 50th birthday celebration. As we drove across the bridge to reach our destination, we were greeted by the beautiful scenery that only the great one above can proved. To the left of the bridge, we were able to see the beginning and the ending of a beautiful rainbow. The angle at which we were travelling made it impossible for us to capture a picture, but it was spectacular. To the right of the bridge, we were able to witness the most captivating, and serene sunset over the ocean. It was so beautiful. The evening sky painted an enticing picture for our travels.
After a night of celebrating, we spent most of Sunday morning resting and relaxing. We had family stay over with us from Charlotte because they had a “very important” event to attend early Sunday morning. (More details in a future post) We later met up with them for lunch in the downtown area. The weather was perfect. Sunny skies, a light breeze, and temperatures at that time in the high 70s. Not the usual, scorching weather we are accustomed to here in Charleston.
We dined at a local Mediterranean cafe and enjoyed the atmosphere and conversation. After biding farewell to our cousins, we went to visit one of the boys best friends who is like a son to me. An hour later, it was time for my sons to hit the road and return to their “new” homes. It was great spending family time together and it’s something that I truly value. Until the next time. 😉
